| I understand the concept of freedom of speech and I understand the value of public forums such as the Haaretz Talkback feature. However I do not in any way comprehend what Haaretz thinks it is adding to constructive discourse by allowing unmoderated comments such as #1 in this current talkback. Haaretz is simply providing a forum for every self opinionated crazy to spew hatred. What purpose does this achieve? Surely the time has come for Haaretz to moderate its Talkback feature and if the cost of doing that is not worth it, then simply cancel the feature. The fault for that will lie with those who have abused your hospitality. It will not be any abbrogation of anyones right to free speech. Responsibilities come with rights. |
