Why are Israeli politicians delighted that Hezbollah is winning the battle? The answer is simple. It means that Israel can, in any battle, fight without both hands tied behind its back. If Hezbollah is the controlling force in Lebanon, Israel doesn`t have to worry about an "innocent" government being caught in the middle of a fight between a terrorist group and Israel. This is much like the Gaza situation. When a terror group can`t hide behind "innocent" government or civilians, its nothing but good news. Poor poopsy Natallie.
As to your historic statement of not being able to stop Hezbollah, all I know is this. Hezbollah was dug in deep south of the Latani when the last war started and when it ended was north of the Latani. Retreat, not to mention enormous destruction brought about by Hezbollah, is quite a victory.
