| Due to the widespread Israeli misuse of American made cluster bombs during the last war in Lebanon, America has restricted all future cluster bomb supplies to Israel. During his last visit to Israel a couple months ago, Bush said that Israeli settlement building "was an impediment to peace". It would seem to me that our "shared basic values" are diverging somewhat. I wouldn`t count of a never ending supply of American tax dollars. Aside from my tax dollars, there is the issue that Americans become targets because of Americas support for Israel. In fact, I suspect that Americans don`t really support Israel. If there was a box on our tax forms that said "check here if you want to donate $20.00 of your refund to the Israel weapons fund", I wonder how many Americans would donate. |
