To answer your last question first, the reason I spend so much time "obsessing". My favirote question actually. (1) My tax dollars help support Israel (2) Because America provides so much support for Israel, Israeli actions can and do jeopordize Americans, (3) Israeli actions, particularly against Iran, have the potential to turn the world economy upside down, particularly that of America.
When I say Israelis do I mean all Israelis? Sophmoric question. It is a generalization of course. If you read this talkback much you will recognize this as common shorthand.
Siniora? He is supported by America. Didn`t you know this? Haaretz mentions it enough. If America wants Siniora to dismantle Hizbollahs communications net he will attempt to do it. Both Israel and America would prefer to avoid another IDF/Hizbollah war, so it was worth a try. |
