Whenever Israel approaches a diplomatic effort with the Arabs, it has, in hand, a list of demands and a threat or two. Nowhere in sight is there any indication that the Arabs will gain anything except that Israel will stop killing them for a little while. Will Israel stop all settlement expansion during the cease fire? Don`t count on it. Actually, there is one possibility that the Arabs will gain by a lopsided cease fire with Israel. If Israel attacks Iran then, as part of Irans retaliation, Hamas can join Irans counterattack having been completely refreshed and resupplied. Maybe Hizbollah should apply for a similar ceasefire and then we can await Israels move on Iran.
