| It`s a media strategy, coordinated somehow or other by Bush`s team on the one hand and McCain`s team on the other. You will see their appearances on the internationally projected TV networks increasingly dovetailed both in style and content, and the message will be, we don`t need to take anybody seriously, all we need to do is go through the motions, without even trying to make them look convincing. An image of complacency is the INTENTION of both teams. The message is, we don`t HAVE to care, we own the world. You can even see elements of this in Rice`s TV spots nowadays, though not quite as offensively blatant. The reason for it all is to impress `middle America` that it doesn`t matter how `the world` sees `us`. |
