Right...

The Lebanese government gave in to the demands of Hezbollah because they HAD TO. Sometimes when you live in a country like the US or Israel, it is easy to forget that not every government can get its way through force. If the Israelis had not talked the US out of giving the legitimate Lebanese army weapons, then it would have been much less likely this would have been the outcome. In fact, were the Lebanese army anything other than a show - and getting weapons from a power like the US would certainly help to reverse this impression - then Lebanese support for Hezbollah would diminish because they would actually have faith that their army could protect them. Denying the Lebanese army weapons, now or ever, is an extremely foolish move... unless the goal was for Hezbollah to take over. Mark my words, without the US and/or another similar power helping the Lebanese army, Hezbollah will win this within the next half decade, max.
