| All Israel has to do is give its Arab citizens full civil rights and end institutionalized discrimination towards them and then they would have an unambigous choice: Full civil rights in a Democratic, relatively economically prosperous state or engaging in pointless identity politics. As long as Israel wishes to have it both ways: a "loyal" Arab minority which it also regards as a potential threatening "Fifth Column," without the full rights and benefits of its Jewish citizens but also demands from them to surpress their Palestinianess which the Israeli system imposed upon them, there will be trouble. |
