I am sorry but the mere fact Arab Israelis protest a "naqba" on Independence Day is meant as an insult and the fact you don`t recognize it, makes it doubly so.

That day comemorates the time when invading Arab armies were intent on obliterating the nascent state. Having Arab co-citizens demonstrate on that day despite whether or not they have legitimate grievances, signals that they do not recognize the legitimacy of the State and that they wish history to be rolled back to a time where there was no State of Israel. Expecting therefore, Jewish Israelis not to interpret this as an insult, or not view Arab Israelis as a fifth column, is simply fantasy.

Still don`t get it? Then why don`t you go to Ground Zero in NYC on September 11 and protest against American Foreign policy and see what happens. It is the same thing!
