Why, why, Silvienne, do you persist in posting such silly, inane comments? Firstly, Independence Day is not the holiday of "a few thousand rightwing settlers," but the holiday of the entire nation (or at least of all those who identify with the state). Secondly, the closure is an added precaution against terrorist attacks as history teaches us that Israeli or Jewish holidays are prime occasions for terrorist outrages. And lastly, nobody will be ?locked in their homes all day long.? Palestinian access to potential Israeli targets will simply be made more difficult.
