Interesting piece on Judah Magnes. Would like to read the diary entries from the 1920s and 30s, if he made any. Assuming he was a One state for two People Zionist in those years, his thoughts on the various riots and Arab rebellion should make for some good reading.

Sadly, though, this article appears lacking. It reports on him saying:

"For more than a generation I have been pleading for peace, conciliation, understanding."

But doesn`t give us details on exactly how he went about this with his Arab neighbors at the time.

Which, largely, seems like a pretty big hole in the history of the region, from what I`m noticing. No shortage of supporters for the One state solution at the time. But there appears to have been so little dialogue trying to hammer it out and promote it. From both peoples. Truly tragic that what could`ve occured peacefully then became pretty much an absurd thought by 1936. And outright fantasy by the time the 40s rolled around.
