*keeps Shabbath Holy; this means for ex. not to travel, not to do shopping, wash laundry, bake and all those things people normally do during the week and which are considered work. By keeping Shabbath we honour G-D and devote the whole day not only to resting, but to studying G-Dīs word.
*keeps the Jewish traditions ...just like you Ulf keep your Christian traditions(I presume?).
*keeps Mitzvot, which are the Commandments, of which you know 10, but which Jews have 613, including acts of kindness and decent moral behaviour.
These are not difficult for even a secular Jew to keep. Being a Jew means just this as is written in our daily prayer: Shema Israel, so that we may pass onto the next generation this Jewish identity and Divine Worship. IF a gentile converts to Judaism without caring to live acc. to Judaism, then his/her conversion goes wasted and does not serve its purpose. The question remains: why does he/she converts to Judaism then? |
