| While I am sure that his work is to be praised, it is interesting to note that only two generations back his family hailed from Egypt. Like Arafat and the other and the other Egyptian "Palestinian", Qattan`s connection with Palestine owes as much to sentiment as to heritage. Incidentally, there were Jewish Qattans (or as they preferred to spell it Cattan) in Eqypt before they and their coreligionists were driven out in the fities and sixties. |
