Don`t worry I understand where you are coming from. That in the scheme of things a game of football is not important. And you are right.

However, people`s perception is important, you live in London, you would have been aware of the revulsion people felt against Israel during Lebanon2. The constant snipes at Israel and the negativity in the media Israel receives.

All I am trying to elude to is that last Wednesday, Holocaust Remembrance Day as it happens, an Israeli Jew succeeded in London albeit in a Sport. The positive stories which came from Avram Grant`s success in managing the best side in London probably had a greater impact that Benyamin Nethanyahu, the current, and past Israeli Ambassadors put together.

It is not reality that is important in today`s media age it is perception, and Avram Grant is percieved as a good person. An Israeli is percieved as a good person. It is not likely to change the World on a grand scale, but it is a good story for Israel.
