I am a Holocaust survivor and I have a rather mixed feeling about this affair.

On the one hand I understand and admire the son`s action wanting to honor his father and in some way insure that the father`s legacy will live on. But on the other hand, the tattoo on the son`s arm takes away a little bit from the authenticity of the tattoos on all the survivors. My analogy is faulty but it may illustrate my point. The tattoo is no longer an `authentic Medal of Honor`, it becomes a `replica of the Medal of Honor`. And the two may become indistiguishable.
