| When Sadat had the idea of making peace with Israel - it was because Egypt`s economy was (and still is) a broken down basket case. Sadat knew that Egypt could not afford another war, so Sadat decided to make peace, and gambled that Egypt would get back the Sinai in exchange. On the other hand Assad`s peace offer is bogus - why ? because of its deeply respected relationship with Iran - which sponsors terrorism, and also financially supports Syria. Israeli`s are crazy about making peace, when the answer is about never giving up land won with blood - (and including Gaza etc.) but rather, Israel must be patient - and may have to be patient for centuries, until new ideas for peace spread throughout the Muslim world. |
