What would happen if we could prove beyond doubt that a great portion of Arabs in the region indeed have Jewish ancestry? If one could prove that such figures like Meshaal, Nasralla and Bashar Assad for example had a great-great-great-great-jewish saba (or savta, for halachic purposes) in their family trees? What would be the world`s reaction? Can`t even imagine that.
Note: I wouldn`t dare to call any Samaritan `a Jew`. They regard themselves as Hebrews since a Jew would be someone descending from the tribe of Judah or whose ancestors were subjects of the House of David (Judah) as is the case of nowadays` Jewish Cohanim. Samaritans see Joseph as their tribal ancestor, therefore it is more suitable to call them Hebrews, not Jews. |
