| I have known (Prof Rabbi Dr) Danny Sperber since childhood, went to the same school, davened in the same shtiebl. His interesting background that was very different from many of the Lithuanian Roshei Yeshiva that established or led the great yeshivos of Europe that were re-transplanted in the US and Israel has enabled him to take a fresh and creative approach to understanding many contemporary halachic issues. His contributions should be taken seriously and given much respect, even from those who might ultimately disagree with him here or there. |
