As today´s Ha´aretz news tell us: food-prices will be steadily going up all over the world in the next years, because of unresolved energy-issues due to global warming mankind is facing and high oil-price. In the dry ME-region, where water resources are scarce and where there are some of the most severe ground-water-pollutions in the world(Gaza), "land for peace" is losing its meaning. Global peace and co-operation are a necessity everywhere today, else life on Earth will deteriorate. Our planet no longer will tolerate economic-political differences of the nations and sustain them. We need become less selfish!
For a tiny country like Israel, to give away land, especially farm-land(Golan) that she should hold onto tooth and nail in order to be able to feed her own people, is most short-sighted and dum!
Then how will Israel survive future food and water-crisis? To give up on one´s self-sustainablity is the stupidest politics the Israeli politicians can do! |
