| Around one hundred years ago, my grandmother had a younger brother who came from Romania to the United States. In order to try to earn some money, he purchased a horse and wagon, and some fabrics and sewing materials (needles, threads, etc.,) and started to peddle these items in South Georgia. Before my great uncle died, he told me about the "customers" and their attitude towards Jewish peddlers. As soon as my great-uncle managed to save some money, he got the hell out of there and moved to Florida. |
