The knee-jerk reaction from all supporters of Israel is that their leaders have to be out of their minds to consider giving up the Golan to Syria. Syria, an arch-terrorist country aligned with Iran, etc, etc.
But, a wise man would at least consider what Syria would give to Israel in return to getting this land. Let`s face it - it would have to an enormous amount to placate a huge part of Israeli society who are steadfast against this exchange. Let`s see what the Syrians are willing to give up.
A key indicator of whether it`s a good deal or not is Iran`s reaction. If Ahmadinajad starts screeming and yelling at the Syrians, then it might be a good deal afterall. |
