| The second expulsion was not from the entire HolyLand. The expulsion was from the Jerusalem area. Jews lived in Galille, and Samaritans remained in Samaria "Nablus". Just before Islam, Jews returned to Jerusalem with the Help of the Persian Invadors. Nevertheless, Most Jew converted to Christianity by that time, and when Islam conquered, they were called Nazarenes, not Christians. The Jewish Identity was only preserved in the religious form anyway. Those who converted, were outlawed by other Jews and denied keeping their Jewish Identity. Consquently they adapted new identities, and the link disappeared overtime. It is funny that today Christians in Jerusalem celebrate the Saturday before Easter, and Real CHRISTIAN Jerusalemites are entitled to enter the Holy Suplchre carrying 12 flags symbolizing the 12 tribes. |
