| by signing non-aggression - not quite peace - treaties with Egypt and Jordan. How can you say Israel has lost when the Israel-Egypt-Jordan borders have been safe for all parities?!!! Syria does not have to lose a valuable ally to gain armistice with an enemy. The ultimate "victory" for Israel would be to RESTORE its relationships with Iran - that`s the grand prise in my opinion. If one listens carefully, Iran`s policy vis-a-vis Israel has always been once peace is established between Israel and the Palestinians Iran will go along and stops being Israel`s enemy because Iran has NO territorial conflict with Israel. Those in Israel who think Syria can be "flipped" by dangling the Golan bait in front of it and coaxed into "loosing" Iran will have a rude awakening. |
