| Is it so wrong for Israel to admit it`s a racist state? The conditions in the occupied territories have been described as "worse" than South Africa`s apartheid by leaders of that country`s anti-apartheid movement. Israel is not the only racist country, so I agree that the conference should not be dominated by that sole case. The conference, however, still must address the problems of race in the occupied territories, as well as the problem of racism in Israel-proper. The model being followed by Tel-Aviv is not sustainable. The occupation must end. Right-wing Israeli settler movements are Israel`s worst enemy. I believe whole-heartedly that both sides in the conflict want peace, and that each side has its own violent fundamentalists. At the end of the day, however, Israel control the prison. Israel IS the decision maker. Peace is in her hands. |
