First, claiming that the golan is legally under israeli sovereignty because israel passed a law that says so is not an argument
Second, every country (except israel) recognises the golan as sovereign syrian territory Third, Israel started the `67 war and in `73 Syrian entered the Golan and did not enter Israel thus there was no invasion (you cannot invade your own territory)
Fourth, you prove my point about the golan having no strategic value. As you point out, Israel would hammer syria in the event of a war, whether launched from the golan or not. Syria know this so all the blather about it being essential for defence is just another excuse for land-theft. |
