| This is not the 17th century. The next war will be a missile war. Last I heard, "defensible borders" were not an issue for missiles. Hamas will use the weapons at hand to work their resistance. This was also true for Menachem Begin and Itzhak Shamir in their days as terrorist leaders. It is in fashion these days for Israels supporters to come up with new and unique excuses to avoid responsibility for the lack of peace and to continue to avoid peace. Most of the time Hamas is blamed, although, strangely, Israel refuses to speak with Hamas. Lately, the "greater good" is in vogue. This alludes that Israels "security" trumps any other consideration and therefor is reason to avoid peace. Of course, in the hands of right wingers, security can mean anything they want it to mean. Your current meanderings fall into this catagory. |
