Suicide bombers were launched at restaurants, busses, schools, shopping malls and grocery stores. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat stood up and gave a speech hoping for an army of shaheeds to bring rivers of blood and fire to Israel. Indeed, he specifically pointed to Palestinian children stating that the best in life for them would be to become martyrs.
