This story reminds me of the Roman times, when also Jesus lived. The Pharisees, learned Jewish scholars, asked Jesus: "are we to pay taxes to the Roman Empreror or not"? To which Jesus answered: "show me a coin. Whose pic and signiture are on it"? The Pharisees replied: "the Emperorīs". "So give to the Emperor that which is the Emperorīs and to G-D that which is G-Dīs", adviced Jesus. LUKE 20:22-26 SPIRITUALLY: "It was the stone rejected by the builders that became the keystone. Anyone, who falls on that stone will be dashed to pieces; anyone it falls on will be crushed". LUKE 20:17-18. PSYCHOLOGICALLY: work maintains a personīs mental health, provides him with understanding of life, increases wisdom, and makes a person sociable. It is anti-religious, in my opinion, not to participate in social functionings and pay our dues to the society, we live in. G-D commanded Adam to "work with the sweat of his brow"! |
