is this how rumors start? "the goal of the attack appeared to be heavy idf casualties and the abduction of a soldier"(http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/976384.html. isn`t the "abduction" part more of an assumption? yet this article mentions it as a fact. two vehicles packed with explosives being detonated pretty much nails down the motive. but someone, either idf or reporter, added the extra drama of an attempted abduction because of the same battalion and the proximity to where shalit was abducted. i know it doesn`t change the results of what happened; but what purpose is served by "creating" an intent without any basis? the answer to that lies in the the last two lines of this article. the purpose of promoting this rumor is obviously to thwart any attempt to assist the "palestinian authority" towards reaching self-sufficiency in providing its own security. ie: to undermine its chances of living up to its end of any peace agreement! |
