NUMBER #1 -- immediately cut all provision of agricultultural water to Gaza`s economy; their wasteful 19th century farm practices can`t be made Israel`s problem (they destroyed the modern drip irrigation systems they were given), and no power on earth can force Israel to feed a combatant`s farms with water Israelis need to drink.
NUMBER #2 -- Require Israeli farmers producing export cash crops to pay the real cost of the water they use, to be paid out of the gross profit they earn - no profit, they go out of business. Kibbutz/moshav collectives are only 2.8% of Israel`s economy, and if they don`t pay their own way, they are an unaffordable ideological luxury. No more crackpot socialist economics that uses up drinking water for money-losing export agribusinesses.
NUMBER #3 - Cut off electricity to hostile Gaza/West Bank (Israel isn`t paid full-fair cost), with Israel`s own generating shortage, tell the PA to go get their own; use saved electric capacity to desalinate brackish water |
