Where does Mr. Segev get his info from? All "Russians" immigrated to Israel under the law of return because of a well established state birth registry. If not Jewish, they either had a Jewish spouse or a Jewish grandparent at the least. There is no evidence Falshmura have ever been Jewish apart from some oral history promoted by American liberal Jews and the Orthodox. False comparison, but no surprise, after all this is Haaretz.
