The current trend towards cutting ties (both in trade and talks) to middle eastern countries is having the effect of isolating the West from the rest of the world. Iran`s sphere of influence has only grown outside of the West since these Western trade bans began.
There is no denying that tensions with Russia are at an all-time post cold-war high. Western conflict with Middle Eastern countries is on the rise, as is conflict with Central and South American countries. The same is true with Asian and African nations.
Germany`s trade cuts are just one small part in what is quickly becoming economic and political war between the West and the entire rest of the world.
This is NOT a good path to continue upon. This continued policy path of the EU and US countries against the rest of the world is only creating alignments against us that never existed before. |
