| I am the court appointed trustee of my mother Frania Branisteanu. The medical staff at Sourasky Medical Center pressured me for over a month to order my mother death even that she and I wanted she should recover and to live. The main reason was her age of 88. According to one Medical Doctor, within the hospital, all crucial organs of my mother, where in relative good standing for a woman of her age. The attorney for the Health Ministry in Tel Aviv which I meet, and who received a very incriminating report, was of the opinion that severe and possible criminal negligence happen in the Department of Internal Medicine 3 under the responsibility of Dr. Moshe Weintraub at Sourasky medical Center. Would like to mention that from my observation almost daily, a patient is dying in this department and no one really cares, except for several nurses, but the remaining staff mostly the doctors, are indifferent to the loss of life. They treat patients like disposables. After sending the harsh letter to Dr. Barbash the hospital general director, within 2 hours my mother was disconnected of all infusions and food supply and the 24 hour care taker was chased from my mother room. After my arrival they refused to reconnect her again to food supply. Only after I strongly insisted and threatened with a lawsuit they started feeding her again, but then again after leaving they chased the care taker again. A police complaint was filed after her death on March 31, 2008 and they informally concluded that it points to possible murder. Police file # is 128961/2008 |
