| The blessing pertains ONLY to ONE specific fact - that men have more commandments the women, and that men should be happy and do those specific commandments. It does NOT and never DID mean "thank god we arent women for they are less/not important". Judism, like it or not, subscribes to "seperate but equal". Each sex has a role to play. There are cross overs, there is duality but they arent "the same". Men and women are different but neither is more important. This 1.5 million dollar waste is a Reform attemp to bring 1960s radical feminism to 2008 Judism. There were PLENTY of important Jewish women - and they are clearly mentioned in the bible - no rewrite is needed. From Sarah to Ruth ALL of them are important and were pivitol to the Jewish religion. In most cases - it wouldnt have continued with out them. |
