I was not saying the cases were identical. Allam, though non-observant, was nonetheless a public figure and looked upon by Christian Italians as a Muslim. Zolli writes in his autobiography that for some time before his conversion, he believed in Christ privately. The cases are strikingly similar in some ways, not identical.
