| Johnboy`s point is well-taken. The impartiality of B`telem, while not irrelvant to the issue is not THE issue. The issue is haow an army should behave during wartime. We Jews are not immune to such scrutiny - and have generally been in the forefront of such self-criticsm.That is as it should be. Dutch should be less quick to judge an an entire army on the facts of one incident- especially before the facts have actually been examined. I would be thrilled if Dutch could point to a single incident where any Palestinian fighters (whether from PA, Al-Aqsa, Hamas, Islamic Jihad or the Palestinian press examined the behaviour of Palestinians towards Israelis ... or point to any parallel group to B`Tselem that might exist on the Palestinian side ... Dutch`s "threat" to send this information to Americans seems to indicate an assumption that those interested in these matters in America can not or do read the on-line English version of Haaretz ... Is Dutch their source of information? |
