| Mr. Blair, with due respect has failed to grasp that the window of opportunity for peace between Israel and the Palestinians closed abruptly when Mr. Arafat called on the second Indifada. His (Arafat`s) policy of divide and conquer to maintain his power base within the Palestinian territories has left within its wake the divided and fragmented Palestinian "governance" that we see today. The window of opportunity that Mr. Blair is racing to grasp, has slammed closed quite some time ago and will remain so until the Palestinians learn how to live with each other and end this current situation where every man and his dog is affiliated to a different clan / militia, and there is no centralized leadership with the mandate to lead. |
