"The Germans (Europeans) have not (yet) learned their lesson from the Holocaust, namely to ALWAYS speak out against the "evil" in the world, no matter in which form we encounter it."
Make no mistake, the only reason why Israel is not facing much stronger opposition (in form of sanctions or Int.isolation) by the world community today, is the still remaining collective (European) guilt-factor for the Holocaust.
And that is very understandable indeed.
However, the Israeli people should consider one thing:
We are only 65 years after the Holocaust now.
And how much this "guilt-factor" will still be working in a 100 years (and thereby preventing Western democracies from "punishing" Israel...) is a very open question.
And that will be an issue of tremendous impor- tance for Israels future..... |
