was one of the major series of battled in Israel`s 1948 War of Independence. Arabs closed off roads to Jewish convoysm and it wasn`t until the Haganah and later the IDF defeated them that roads in Israel became passable again. Of course, the cost to the Palestinian Arabs was very heavy. So they had betterthink twice before they do it again.
