| The Good Friday prayer for the Jews is centuries old. I don`t know exactly how old, but, if I`m not mistaken, there has always been some kind of prayer for jewish conversion from the very beginning of the Christian era. The changes which the pope made affect only the prayer included in the 1962 Missal authorized by John XXIII. This refers to what the Holy Father tells us is the "extraordinary" rite of Mass. This missal is used by only 1% of Catholic worldwide. The day will come when it is reinstated for 100% of Catholics. But right now, only that small percentage adhere to it. |
