No time is as crucial as the present for Jews. The serious part of it,is the argument between Jews themselves now.Today unlike the past, the Jewish future is in Jewish hands. `What is to be done`is a question never left the Jewish mind, for most,if not all their History. Here is a telling quotation from Joseph B. Schechtman from his book `Rebel and Statesman` The Life and Times of Vladimir Jobotinsky, chaper "Parting of the Ways". "Weisman believes that his way is that of compromising realist, and mine is the way of a stubborn fantst,of a utopian;and I feel that his line is the line of renunciation,of subconscious Marannism, while mine is a difficult way, which will, however lead more quickly to a Jewish State". Today the Jewish State is here;what we do with it and how we build it up,is our decision,we the Jews in Israel and in the diaspora. Both Weizmann and Jabotinsky & many others, have done their Job. NOT for any State but a Jewish State no less. |
