Mr. Abbas is doing from desperation what should have been from common sense years ago.
More of `too little, too late."
He put too much emphasis upon negotiating, solving the major problem with Israel, and too little on staving off Hamas.
Then he made the fatal mistake, being seduced by Elliott Abrams into an ill-fated attempt at a coup d`etat against the Hamas led elected government of Palestine.
When that failed - and the US paid off with the vapid Annapolis photo-op, and Israel paid off with the jack boot - Abbas started going into eclipse.
Israel has thrown away it`s last best chance to avoid having to deal with Hamas.
