An absolutist approach to faith leads the religious to far fetched conclusions. Same with an absolutist approach to human rights (see post#1).
We know full wel that an Muslim passenger is more likely to be a threat to security on a plane. Arabs at Ben Gurion airport are likely to be Muslims.
To ignore this would display astonishing contempt for the sanctity of life.
Anyone who`s studied human rights law understands that rights do not exist in a vacuum. The positive right to life of all airline passengers would certainly prevail over freedom of some passengers from ethnic profiling. |
