The students at the Mercaz Harab Yeshiva will serve in the army when they reach 18, or have already served in the army. Most of them will become productive, taxpaying citizens (of course there are always those who opt for yeshiva life and not life in the real world).

It is the Haredi yeshivas whose students do not serve in the army, and Mercaz Harav is not a haredi yeshiva but a National Religious yeshiva.

So with all my bitterness against the Orthodox stranglehold on the government and citizens of Israel, I must defend this yeshiva on the point of army sevice and productuve work.
