One of the catalysts of this unfortunate reaction is the disconnect between the Left slant in the media and what is actually happening on the ground. Israelis must, on the one hand, stand strong against the national aspirations of the Palestinians, who`s goal is to seriously damage the position of Jews in this area, but on the other hand should strongly reject racist attitudes and actions. This challenge is not being helped when the media are often all to willing to take on the self-blame approach, as if the other side can do no wrong. This is short sighted and the results of which assist in festering racist attitudes.
