this article is trying to imply that there are real orthodox people there. not.
please notice the subterfuge: "she is a former matchmaker raised in a strict orthodox tradition in south africa who still keeps kosher and obsreves the sabbath".
the "still" here says volumes (i.e. still doing this stuff although she is no longer orthodox)
one should also read these type of articles with extreme caution. i went 2 years to ramaz high school. i read an article about someone at ramaz who went on to be a pop singer (or similar). she said how she went to this "very religious yeshiva" when she grew up. ramaz??. a very religious yeshiva??? clearly she thought it was but clearly she has no clue what a yeshiva is or what religious is. |
