| Never in the history of the intelligentsia a group of `intellectuals` done so much harm to their country than the Israeli`intellectuals`. The reason might sounds complex but it is not. Todays Israeli `intellectuals`,normally called `the Left` have taken over from the Israeli pioneers and hijacked their movement from muddy hands of the soil to clean hands with laptops and the fresh air of the kibbutz to electric lighted desks in high rising flats. In certain ways the Palestinians of today looks more like the Israeli pioneers of yesterdays. The Israeli`intellectuals` are sadated with kowledge & injected themselves with all kinds of irrelevancies.They can`t see the woods from the tree. I am glad to read that Mertetz numbers `shrank from 12 MKs to five`.But the problem is,they left their mark on Israeli politics which is still a great danger.An early general election is badly needed.This needs to happen not a minute later than now. *This was borrowed from Rymond Aron. |
