The decision by the Merkel government to sabotage sanctions and a common Western position against Iran has pushed a broad spectrum of officials in Washington to develop potential scenarios for a military attack on the mullah regime in Tehran. Lt.Gen. (ret.) Thomas McInerney told a broad US TV audience that since Germany had backed out of helping economically, the US will not have any other choice. He said that Germany has forced the US into the military option. As the mullahs are striving for nuclear weapons that can get into the hands of terrorists, it will be too late if actions are not taken in the near future. McInerney is not the only one to conclude that the irresposible behaviour of the Merkel government might lead to a terrible war in the region.
