Sworn leftists and idealists by nature have grown tired of the games that the Palestinians play with the truth. It`s true that all politicians fudge the truth but the Palestinians buy the world`s sympathy through their tears but are not honest brokers. There`s a rumour Tony Blair is giving up the game because of the blatant lying of the Palestinian side. Pallywood films and the story of Mohammed Al Dura are representative of this trend. Arafat after signing `the peace of the braves` told the Moslems in the Mosque in Cape Town that no matter what agreements he signs in English he will never make peace with Israel and that has remained the standard approach.
I vote Meretz despite knowing all this, because I sincerely want peace within the region, but I believe that our politicians (yes, even OUR politicians) won`t give away what we`ve fought so hard for without guarantees.
