This is a beautiful, informative, and easy-to-read book that is a Must-Read for anyone interested in Judaism, Buddism, Tibet, Judaism and Eastern religions, etc. It`s well-worth searching for. Not sure if translated into Ivrit, but it was/is very popular in U.S. and Amazon probably carries it.
One point made in the book, by a former chabad rabbi, no less, is that the Tibetan people are facing today much of what our people (Jews) experienced under Rome and in the years immediately following the destruciton of the Temples. Tibetan leaders have great respect for Jewish moxy -- that we survived, more or less intact even if frayed, over about 2000 years of exile. They are just at the beginning of theirs. may they not have to suffer as we did. They deserve our empathy. Read the book (you`ll learn a lot about our own people and beliefs, too). |
